This is my first and probably only guide/build i will ever make so i’ll try to be as clear as i can, i was over asked for builds and explanations, what is good what is bad what works better with what so i’ll present you my Build and at the end of the page you’ll have a Guide. Be sure to rate it was you like it and leave your feedback i’m not saying this is the best build or etc, just the one that fits best for my doings which are PVE and minor PVP.

Ok my build, i run as a SpellStorm Control Wizard
So starting with the beginning why spellstorm?
Well first of all, more damage, the output damage is higher than a Master of Flame, be it burst damage or DoT damage it is better for both, and with sudden storm’s opressor feat it has a chance for insta control, with today’s nerf we won’t be abble to achieve the perfect perma freeze but we can be so close to it, and with the damage a party usually does you barely need the control, but its good to instaly freeze everything in a aoe in dungeons like castle never.

Initial Roll+Focus:
20int+15char: The best one for damage, some come up with the 18-18 this isn’t good you’re trading always damage for dmg only when dealing combat advantage, the critical doesn’t chance much for this build so its pretty much useless.
20int+15wis: for more control i would do this one.
as you level foccused wisdom, so i ended up with 26 int 19 wis 17 Cha, why? wisdom gives me action points gain, recharge speed and control bonus, i do like this, as you can see in my stats i love control bonus and recharge speed. But if you looking into ONLY DAMAGE BUILD foccus full on CHA.

The Belt: this is just a lame substitution, i’ll be using Artifact belt of Intelligence and so should you.
Enchantments+rings+necklace: i’m not using the right ones for the set so my stats are a bit off, the enchantments you should use are to compensate what your set will lack, i’ll explain right away read further.
Artifacts: Sigil of the Devoted should be on your list definitly, but the others will depend on you, i foccused control+life steal, and to make with the set i also needed recovery so i chose those artifacts, but if you are to be full Damage you should go for Power ones.
Enchantment: Vorpal, read bellow on the guide part so you know my tests, but for DPS vorpal is far the best. Soul Forge for PVE still does it’s job and by far better than any of the others
Malabog Dread Legion 2/2, fair amount of dmg
Draconic higher DPS but messes stats too much you’ll have to compensate (this is the reason why my stats are rubbish at the moment im going to change into draconic.
Vizier 4/4 it is actually still effective but you won’t deal more damage than if you use DL/MC like we used prior to mod 4 it isn’t as effective somehow #tests-were-made.
Dread Legion 4/4: Actually is good, it’s 4/4 effect procs quite often but i belive it has an internal cooldown tho they don’t say it, but DoT in aoe will always always always proc it, and the dmg that the set activates will also proc assailant force.

Main Hand: I use the arcane artifact-weapon, but if you should use the chill one, this one will give you more Armour penetration, but you’ll lack recovery later ’cause you won’t use weapon set so you lose 450 rec, tho arcane one isn’t bad either but the effect is rubbish, since i barely use at wills besides for buff it doesn’t make a sh— difference to me.
Power: keep power higher than 7k and foccus on it when you got all other stats
Recovery: keep recovery between 3k and 4k for less cooldown and more action points
Armour Pen: the most effectiveness of armour pen will be around 2.4k, less and you’re dealing less damage, more and you’re wasting points.
Critical: well this won’t make much difference to us ’cause of eye of the storm, yet it is good to have a few so keep it higher than 1.5 and lower than 3k.
Life Steal: this is our main survival source keep it always higher than 700, i have about 2k since i solo a lot, but you don’t need so much, 700 yet is the lowest of the lowests you should have, so keep it around 1k.

Controlling Action 1/5: well it isn’t much of a thing, just a lost point, putting this point into aoe would be a cool one too.
Weapon Mastery 3/3: 3% critical chance, free crit chance thanks NW! putting this point into aoe would be a cool one
Toughness 3/3: 9% HP great for inscrease survivability
Fight On 5/5: 10% encounter cooldowns reduced by 10%, well this is a bit more than 1s cooldown reduced on all skills, all! so its really decent, again for full full damage i wouldn’t do it.
Battlewise 0/3: this really isn’t wise at all
Wizard’s Wrath 0/3: well i’ve got really disapointed when they changed feats this now became really bad for me but there’s 2 points you can spend here if you want… since we don’t burst aoe much dmg anymore…
Blightning Power 3/3: well inscreased 6% dmg to ice knife which is good, to icy rays for burst single target, for ice terrain and for COI, also for Creeping frost effect ( Thaumaturge’s feat)
Learned Spellcaster 0/5: well unlike what most people thing this won’t add +5% dmg on your intelligence, it will increase it’s bonus damage, so its 5% of 16%, which is really really bad
Prestidigitation 2/3: 2% stats rating for you and everybody, well this is better than nothing and if you have 10k power this will give you additional ~1.5% dmg which is more than the 5 points on learned spellcaster
Focused Wizardry 3/3: deal 30% more ST for 10% AoE, well this is great, what a trade, 30% dmg for all our single target powers, ice knife + 30%, stormspell hits +30%, (needs further testing but i belive asailent force counts), stormfury +30%, +30% on Creeping Frost and Warped magic, only thing to regret is -10% on our opressive force and -10% on our sudden storm, ’cause on the rest it pretty much overcompensates on the stormspell since the rest is mostly aoe stormspell proccers.
Thaumaturge start: 5/5 on both, pretty much the other feats are useless these are the best ones, we’ll barely use storm pillar if we will use it, it takes time to fully charge it -ain’t nobody got time for dat-
Frozen Power Transfer 5/5: well duh, Chilling Cloud is the most damaging at will at the moment, to have our only at will buffing (5% to 15%) us is pretty good
Far Spell: well… meh…
Elemental Emporment 5/5: procs really really a lot, it’s affected by buffs and seems to also procs other effects, i’ve seen creeping frost dealing more than 2k per spike.
TRanscended Master 0/5: shard is dead, icy rays would be a good one for pvp and for pve burst but i don’t wanna open the hand of other feats.
Assailing Force: High damage, the effect procs on you and then will be proced on the mob it is procced by DoTs like Icy Terrain and COI, dealing often 15k/20k on PVE it is by far one of the reasons why we must love it, while it does say it has a max damage, that is the base damage, the damage will go higher with buffs and effects doing really great dmg =).
BItter Cold 5/5: we use alot of cold spells, icy terrain, COI, even our at wills are cold spells so basicly a almost always active
Severe Reaction 0/5: improves your survivability really well, but i don’t miss it and it would be easily compensated with a pseudo dragon, yet for PVP there’s no better feat as it seems to be procced by even plague fire hits.
Chilling Control 5/5: i looooove this feat, ice terrain+SS= insta freeze, since SS has a fast spellcast it is great for tight situations as saved me a lot of times and makes my life so much easier.

In case you’re lazy then let me explain to you, with this build i foccus a bit on control and on damage over time, where i tend to max DPS through stormspell and assailant force and also creeping frost, doing all these i get  a real good control with very very high damage total, 20k assailant force, 2k per spike creeping frost and 15k StormSpell, higher stats will have higher results, by using the +30% single target feat which will boost the single target power effects like the ones spoken above, we start with COI on tab for big aoe proc+chill, then Ice Terrain for aoe procc+freeze, then Sudden Storm for insta freeze and good 20k hit aoe, finaly use Steal time which as we know counts as 6 encounters, being the king of effect proccing dealing more dmg with stormspell hits than with the steal time itself! enjoy the control+topDamage build.
For Single target Ray of Enfeeblement on tab and switch SS with COI for mixed, and for single only use only single target spells.

Icy Terrain: 7 ticks and will most likely proc creeping frost, storm spell has a 20% chance so, icy terrain has a deal 7*20% chance so there’s no way it will not stormspell at least once, with all the buffs dealing about 10k on each.
COI: 7 ticks, same things
Steal time: about 6 ticks, ate the end you deal more damage with stormspells than with the hit itself, 6*20%
Sudden Storm: the aoe hit will do ~20k+ stormspell it does about 20/35k
so lets add it, 20%(7+7+6+1) = 20%(21)=420%, so your combo will proc at least 4 StormSpells to each mob hit by your combo so basicly free 40-60k on your whole rotations just with stormspell on the passive slot we’re just ignoring the base spells damage, and other effects, we then add Assailant Force that will be dealing about 15-20k to one of the mobs and will most likely be procced by icy terrain and COI, Creeping Frost hits also proc storm spell so we’re looking at the least damage they will do to each mob, so guaranteed 40k.
So we have a base damage that will always be there independent, which does substitute our old shard of endless avalanche, but better! better! this time we can control them all together while dealing damage instead of spreading them, you’d think we’d lose damage with Opressive, but since each opressive hit also has a chance to proc StormSpell it’s damage is still pretty good.

Since so many people asking for my build and a guild so i’ve finally decided to stop to write it all down for everybody, i’ve been playing with control wizard for 9 months or so, i usually do PVE but i go pvp pugs or premades just for fun
I wanna make more of a guide and explain everything i use, i’m not implying it’s the best, but i’m barely out-dpsed ever and i still manage to have a insane control.

I’ve made a lot of tests tried different builds, with renegade, opressor and then finaly got back to thaumaturge and i’m gonna try to pass my experiences to you.

A little knowledge and tests :
I’ll let you know my rate: Good  average   bad   Really Good

Human: well the 3×2% of something are lost but you get 3 extra feats, lets see where we would put the extra feats in? +1 prestiditation +2% aoe attacks? well it doesn’t quite do it for me, but you might think it’s better, def the best option if you’d go full burst aoe dmg which i don’t recomend
Tiefling: the top one when it comes to dmg, unlike what it used to say, tiefling’s buff occurs when the enemy is bellow 50% and not 30%, so basicly on bosses this will be great, but on adds you’ll barely notice, but it is still a damage buff to take to account, add a archon for extra dmg on low HP bosses. +2 on charisma gibing +2% combat advantage bonus, +2% Critical Chance,+2% pet’s stats which are good.
Sun Elf: i mostly like the elf for appearance and it’s my fav race on most MMORPGs, i chose it at the start and i don’t regret it but i won’t say its best, i get 10% CC resist and 3% or 2% action points gain, which is pretty cool, most people say it’s useless but our highest dmging spell is a daily, having more daily is always good for slightly more control and also a dmg bonus i like it. The +2 CHA like tiefling too.
DragonBorn: now 3% more power and 3% more critical is a very low…. or is it? add prestidigitation which is 2%, so basicly you get 5% more power and 5% more critical, but leave alone prestidigitation, 3% might not seem like a big thing, but at 10k power it is 300, 300! which is like having an extra rank 10 radiant giving you about 2.5% more damage or something like that, since some of you are able to get even more power than that so more dmg buff, and it gives critical too but that doesn’t affect us much, in addition you can have +2 on whatever you want a dream of, which makes this the best race for a full control were you’d make a full int+wisdom, but yeah great race too bad no helms available for it.
Halfling: the resistance man.. CC resist+deflect chance… for full pvp thats the deal you all know
Human: well the substitute version, better for dmg on pvp halfling but weaker on resistance
races do make a difference but is very small, for different purposes dif races =) and play with what you most like to see on screen the difference is too small and arguable between those races.

Great amazing damage with a great stand out when it comes to single target damage, its beautiful for DoT spells like ice terrain, conduit of ice ray of enfeeblement and even Steal time that while it doesn’t exactly hit, it counts as 6 powers, the DoT from the feats which are detailed in the build!

This would be for the burst damage build, but with shard of endless avalanche dead, the only thing we’d be left with good damage is sudden storm and steal time for AoE burst, and yet Steal time doesn’t do much higher than 40k, CW’s burst damage is kinda dead, and as a party helper i belive Opressor is yet better

The once-amazing tree for control, it was indeed amazing, but with the no-chill for 3 seconds after shatter/freeze on this module don’t think it will be as good, the perfect perma freeze as something insane you could literaly freeze permanently all the monsters on Castle Never’s last boss as long as you wanted, using a plague fire it would be a great option if the was a dungeon indeed so difficult where one had to control the monsters permanently so they don’t kill everyone, which just doesn’t happen in NW, so i still think thaumaturge is most usefull tree

Class Features AKA Passives:
Orb of imposition: with the buff now granting 75% aditional control time, it’s something really really impressive, making a real difference on pvp, almost twice the time, yet it comes in with a bunch of buggs, mainly singularity, with high controls ine singularity seems to hold mobs longer inside the ball, making the dmg explosion instead of dropping them in place, spread them making the singularity 100% useless with this passive, Malestorm of Chaos seems to make mobs fly higher with this feature and entangle force on tab seems to spread mobs just like singularity, the high control seems to bug and offer the oposite result.

Arcane Presence: at a max of 15% dmg buff only for ice spells it just doesn’t do the deal, with renage tree you could have extra 5% critical chance, still since renegade isn’t so good… it makes this passive a bad one

Chilling Presence: since mobs get 6 stacks of chill, max 7 when frozen, this would give 21% dmg bonus max

Evocation: permanent 15% dmg buff on all aoe attacks, just not good enough for me as we aren’t burst damage anymore and it would not affect StormSpell nor other procs/feats as they all proc as single targeted powers

StormFury: Interesting, when bellow half health you deal about 2-3k dmg tho it seems to be affect by buffs being that once i hited a HR for 8-9k, being only good for tankers ’cause a glass canon is either killing or dead.

StormSpell: the divine dmg booster machine, what helps control wizard stay on the top damage charts, with about 15k hit critical with vorpal and 5k non critical hits, having its chance procced by Dread Legion 4-set, by steal time (6*proc chance per target), by each tick of conduit of ice and ice terrain, yet it isn’t procced by plague fire (which would make plague fire OP) and being procced by many feats of thaumaturge it is great

Eye Of the Storm: Not everybody uses but its still amazing, being able to critical for 6s, is enough to send out a high combo from your skills, the cooldown starts once it activates so its 14s without so many criticals till next crit rain, the reason i love it, is to be abble to use Opressive force at max damage, just send any power even an at-will and you can just bam your daily that will proc stormspell, that will storm proc everything, that will stack plague fire up to 8-11 stacks and control all ALL the adds without limite being abble to do 3M dmg in a single daily and almost cleaning a whole room, the time i take to make another daily is about 15s with the DC artifact+ attacks maybe even faster, so i can send 2 dailies that i know they’re gonna go critical, the cooldown is just perfect, i prefered the past eye of the storm as it required more skill to use than this one, but well this seems to work too, and tho some say it makes stormspell crit.

Ice Storm: just horrible, high dmg but horrible, use it and you’ll probably be thrown out of the party as fast as you blink.
Singularity: with the nerf and all it only deals damage and brings together 8 mobs, it has just become a gathering mobs, i only use it for very specific situations as in when the mobs are very separated and they’re not more than 10, careful as singularity will give the affected targets a brief moment of target/damage immunity and a lot of monsters will jump out of it, making it a dangerous spell.
Opressive Force: By far the best Daily for me, only people who can’t think better will make a bad use of it, and it indeed incorrectly used can be a pain in the ass, it’s spread force is big, its one of the few dailies not to have a cap of how many mobs it hits dealing a good ammount of damage, proccing a lot of effects just wonderful, the deal with this one is using as a control spell and not just as a damage, try to use it so it push mobs all to the same side and not to spread them, a funny trick is to dash into mobs use ice terrain, dash again and use opressive force, they’ll stay on ice terrain, they will be pushed into the ice terrain and suffer DoTs from Opressive Force and Ice Terrain, once it ends they’re most likely frozen by ice terrain, to maximize damage only only use it when you have eye of the storm or to get out of hard situations.
Ice Knife: best burst single target damage that a control wizard has with a nice prone effect combined with ray of enfeeblement a average CW can deal about 100k+ sometimes 200k, be wise and only use it when you have eye of the storm active.
Maelstrom Of Chaos: aka moc, high DPS and reduces dmg and gives brief CC immunity, since it’s a aoe the damage is quite good, great for control since it has prone, to be one of the best skills a mage could have IF! IF! IF! IF! the cap of mobs weren’t as small, max you can is about 4-6 targets that are near you, it’s alredy a hard skill to use, and with such a low target cap makes it pretty much useless, still one of the funniest, it is affected by orb of imposition making mobs fly higher than they would do.
Furious Immolation: Like a better and faster version of singularity with as far as i heard no cap of mobs, has a nice stun if you follow opressor’s feat.

At wills:
Chillin’ Cloud: The best damage-wise with the extra of the chill+buff of thaumaturge tree giving 5 to 15% dmg bonus o/
Ray of Frost: Best for pvp and single target fast control ss+ray of frost will insta freeze any add you want, for new dungeon great, the best at will for effect proc
Storm Pillar: well only 10% dmg buff on fully charged but no chill effect nor weapon artifact buffing it so nevermind it, it is good on pvp to use with red glyph but still… annoying to cast.
Arcane Missiles: well good single target dmg, since our dmg is no longer foccused on arcane spells arcane mastery isn’t the most precious thing ever, still not bad but wouldn’t use it much
MoF one: heard really good damage and adds burn pretty great too bad stormpillar isn’t as good!

Weapon Enchantment:
P.Vorpal: indeed so far the best one when it come to Damage, you’ll get higher dps total at the end than with plague fire obviously!
G.Plague Fire: Debuffs and burns, yes indeed very good for DoT!
P.Flamming: Needs further testing but seems to act as a more aggressive plague fire without benefiting the party and dealing more dmg
P.Lightning: after a few tests i can honestly say this is a really bad option for CW, its better than most lesser enchants but that’s just it, G plague deals more dmg on a CW than Lightning.

      October 15, 2014 at 10:26 pm

well first of all for pvp i’d foccuss more on survivability
i would just change to feats
i would TRanscended Master 5/5 instead of the opressor’s sudden storm feat
and instead of BItter Cold 5/5 i would put severe reaction

then it would be a perfect PVP build =)
      be sure to rate it!

My bad, i wouldn’t just change the feats
for pvp you want to have less power, more armour penetration and more health
i’d say 30k HP at least, purified set, 3k armour penetration, 1.2k regeneration and foccus cons+int

  • October 16, 2014 at 12:35 pm

this guide is complete trash lmao to anyone that knows anything about a endgame cw … i mean there is some usefull information but i’d never follow this stoxs pve cw thaum guide is better and its outdated already lmao

    • André
      October 16, 2014 at 4:59 pm

I’ve made my tests and shared my points, in some parts it is indeed basic and mostly useless for someone endgame, but i believe someone endgame would have his own build created for his own gaming style, just like i made mine, and it works exactly for what i need and do
IF you are a CW endgame why would you even be looking for a build? or a guide? test your sht out for yourself, and if you did and came up with difference results feel free to share instead of bashing on other people’s work

i explain what to change if you run a more damaging build, i like to mix damage with control without losing neither, with high capacity to solo dungeons, only get lower Damage if some1 actually out-gears for a lot and has a similar build, as you can see i’m not so much of a full geared player yet, but that’s because i spend my farmings on tests resets and so on, instead of trying to gear my ass, to me first comes the knowledge then the application of that knowledge

Stox’s guide is outdated as hell, all there is trash now, full of information that are nowhere accurate to the nowadays CW, every little thing there is about COI’s debuff, shard high dmg and high vizier debuff. With Armour penetration working on this mod, vizier has become close to useless, shard barely does damage at all, and COI no longer debuffs

Come back here and comment when you actually play Neverwinter end game as a CW bro 😉
I did many many tests and unless you got some actually idea of what you talking about or something you’d like to point out instead of trying to put my guide down you’re welcome

Criticism is good when you do it well, so either come with some better ideas and explain what is bad in my guide or just leave

I tested a among of builds, small difference between feats, and it’s almost all explained here, and with more details on the link i posted in one of the comments

i Did explain most of the changes that i would do if i went full DPS
And in the feats area i explain a little about why i chose those feats care to read before judge
      but thanks for reply
if you read it you’d notice this isn’t just a DPS build, this is a build foccused on soloing with control and damage quite well balanced where even outgeared im barely out-dpsed, give the guide/build a full read and you might understand the reason of somethings

for a more accurate version of this guide i posted it on Google docs its more updated if you want to give area to the guide read it on this link its much more organized and even has the encounters feedback

i dont see why people are hating on this build, i didnt play NW for about 5-6 months, came back to my CW recently and needed a new build so i went for this to try it out, ever since i have been top of every single dungeon/skirmish i have been in at 16k GS even when up against annother CW at 20k with same-ish build and also better dps than 20k+ GWF’s on multiple occasions, if you understand and play this build right, you will be top dps’ing.

    • André
      October 22, 2014 at 7:38 pm

Yes exactly that =) It’s all about understanding the build to take advantage of the things you got, but if you go for a build and use spells or tactics of other builds you won’t get much further
=) thanks for the feed man

      October 22, 2014 at 7:40 pm

it’s there up in the build part:
Icy Terrain: 7 ticks and will most likely proc creeping frost, storm spell has a 20% chance so, icy terrain has a deal 7*20% chance so there’s no way it will not stormspell at least once, with all the buffs dealing about 10k on each.
      COI: 7 ticks, same things
Steal time: about 6 ticks, ate the end you deal more damage with stormspells than with the hit itself, 6*20%
Sudden Storm: the aoe hit will do ~20k+ stormspell it does about 20/35k

      For Feats
Transcended Master 5/5(thaumaturge tree) instead of the 5/5 Chilling Control (Opressor tree, note you’ll lose some control)
Wizard’s Wrath 1/3 instead of the Controlling Action 1/5 (heroic feats)

      For Attributes
      focus Int+CHA

    Hi André.
Thank you for your work and for sharing this awsome build.

I resently started to focus on my CW again and it was set with Stox’s build.
After a few dungeons and VT/MC i did see some other CW’s going through the roof with dmg and control. I started asking and got no real answers, so after a search I found your build.
I gave it a try and for Module 4 this is really amazing!
I like the control and the dmg numbers that litterally spam my screen is hilerious and feals so OP!!
I’m at top on the dmg list and all mobs are frozen or slowed.

I’m using Greater Plague fire now since (I think) it lower the Defence by 45% (at 3 stacks) since i lack abit Armorpen (1700 atm). This might be wrong (I’m not a big number/game/theoretical mechanic crunsher) and would like a coment if i should just sell it and get Vorpal instead.

Thanks again for you hard work and your time.

Anytime man, i recently stopped playing NW and i wanted to leave my legacy might start playing again on mod 5 who knows
Glad to hear you enjoyed it =)
The thing about plague fire is that with armor penetration actually functioning properly for CW it becomes not that much of a different element on our damage output the same goes for vizier, debuffing enemies resistance isn’t as important for a control wizard anymore ’cause our available debuffs don’t wok if the mob is already at 0 resistance, unlike some of devoted cleric’s debuffs

Anyway anything you ever needs just post it here i’ll do my best to answer!

  • November 12, 2014 at 12:39 am

Don’t worry about being nooby, i haven’t played on Mod 5 so… i can’t verify that this is still one of the best builds but it should do you great for learning but keep in mind some of the info in this guide isn’t accurate anymore as some things changed on mod 5

      Sorry i don’t play anymore :/
      But go for life steal+control+power
anything that gives you damage goes first
For last boons i think i had Madness and elvish fury or something

    Hey, André ,
I really like your build, but as a new player I missed a screenshot with all your powers showing. It would be useful to know what to level and how many points to spend. Hope you won’t be lazy to make this 😀

Vizier, but back then vizier was the strongest, i would argue now between shadow weaver and vizier.. Dunno if shadow weaver is still bugged in not activating properly tho =/

Andrè, thanks for sharing your guide. I am having a lotta fun with my Control Wizard, and as far as I can tell it still works for Mod 5. I am sure there are some things that probably don’t work as well as it should/used to (?), but to date I’m too inexperienced to figure it out yet. Will probably do as I play more I guess. Regarding Tiamat, while I normally wouldn’t use the following, I thought skills like Repel (repelling them off the cliffs is fun!), Ice Storm, and Shard of Endless Avalanche do come in handy in helping to keep the demons away from the clerics. There probably are better ways(?), but I’ll discover them as I play more.

      January 5, 2015 at 7:37 pm

Well usually for control instead of a shard of endless avanlach i usually used sudden storm with the opressor’s feat + ice terrain to instantly freeze a whole area of enemies for a descent time.
Steal time comes also handy in many situations, it really comes down to what you feel comfortable with =P

Anyway i gave it some tests in mod 5 recently and the build does seem to be working 100% fine for what it was developed, in this build the only outdated stuff is the text, the way it’s build is working. I’d have to change the math and explanation on why it is so good.

good stuff. Haven played NW for like 9months. Needed a new build and used this one. Definitely legit, storm spells ticks like crazy, super high dps and very good control. I out dps a cw with 20k gs when im only like 16k. Those who talk shit about this dont know what they are missing. Btw, is draconic templar set the best set for cw currently? Im not sure which set to go for now.

      January 5, 2015 at 7:33 pm

The problem with draconic is that you have to buy the glyphs but if you can afford red glyphs then it is definitely better (or at least was back when i used to play)

Some stuff changed and the reason to used this build also changed, i’d edit it however i can’t find how, but the way it’s done it still works amazingly fine just the explanations to why it is so amazing that got outdated, they changed the way the spellstorm works, however the overall dps doesn’t change.

The draconic templar gear set is the highest rated set but it will mess up your CW wanted stats so you better stockpile rank 7+ silvery enchantments for offensive slots and the likes to boost the seriously lacking recovery stat among others.

I would love to see more details about boons in relation to this build and that draconic templar set, those I have set were from my previous Stox thaum build.

Otherwise i use that build since a few weeks, currently aound 17.5k GS, and it is doing the work quite well while I love the close quarter combat going with it, thank to André (Français, Belge, Quebécois?) 🙂

hehe Portuguese 😛 Sorry for the late reply, MMOMINDS takes way too long to notify me or to accept your comments.

Anyway, about the boons, i think it goes pretty much to where you are more dedicated and where your stats stand, as you may have different enchantments you should use the boons to compensate on what you’re missing.
Stox’s boons should be fine tho 😛 they’re more for dps, i like a little bit more control, but it’s a very very small difference.

This build’s explanations are a little outdated since there was a few updates that changed a few powers, but it’s still functional, logged a little time ago and did a 2 Man CN (me and a GWF friend of mine) it felt still pretty smooth and working as intended, so it’s still functional, i saw other builds out there and for my taste there’s still nothing better than this.
I would like to update it, but i have no clue on how to update a build on MMOMINDS sadly 🙁

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah i absolutely love to not lose in the damage while keeping everything under control, this allowed me to do a 2 man CN with a only 15k CW 😀

Is this build possible tho? As I see here u are using 4 encounter abilities slotted at the same time? CoI, Ice Terrain, Sudden Storm and Steal Time. I’m new to Neverwinter and I’m planning to start playing the Xbox Version. But from what I’ve read it’s only possible to wield 3 encounter abilities at any given time? Max rated, very good informative information. Understood everything even though I haven’t played the game yet. Thanks

Almost all classes only have 3 encounters+ tab
Tab functions changes from class to class, for control wizard, tab works as an extra slot for encounters, being the only class to use 4. Plus the one on tab gets an additional effect that’s mentioned in the encounter’s description. In COI’s case, the area is wider.

The explanations and info about each power and special effect may be a little off by now but i went and tested it 1 month ago and it was working perfectly, managed to get top damage and do CN with only 2 people (GWF and my CW)
      Thanks for the reply!

    A little update :o)

Been testing this build on test server (Module 6) and this build is still awsome.
Just tested to lvl 64 atm and its really fun, new spells and feats but they are almost the same.
Prepare to change some of your hard earned epics for blues and greens as you go but the stats is so OP on new gear :o)

They have changed lifesteal to be % chance to proc, and not overall dmg=constant heal, so prepare to bring alot of potions and your healer companion, you are now the squishy mage they are suppose to be.

ok, so i play on the xbox one version. yes, im aware that its probably the shitty way of playing, but i enjoy it nonetheless. now, my question is that my “right bumper” is a spell mastery button. what should i leave under there? It usually gives an added boost, and idk if its the same on the pc version. this build looks awesome, but im still trying to figure out how to copy it, test it out, and see if i want to use it. im a lvl 60 endgame control wizard, but ive tried some dungeons and pvp and im getting wrecked. =/ so i really hope this build works. IT LOOKS AWESOME!

Could you give me a link to the powers? The link above does not work anymore.

I love this build, but can you make some changes for mod6 here? Or some change for me (I am often using Oppresive force and I like it 😀 but feat Focused Wizardry devastate him a litlle :/ Why you dont use feat for acane power pls?

PS: Do you know some program for testing damage with different feats?

    Thank you 🙂
